Silverland Presents a Continuing Survey of the American West...

The west is a monumental place geographically, historically, sociologically, but most importantly – conceptually.  Historically, the “west” has been an illusive destination.  More of an ideal than an actual place, a symbol rather than a geographical point, the “west”, continues to inspire, deceive, and mystify. What and where is this place we call the “west”? Can it be mapped?  What is the western landscape composed of today?  In the spirit of the 1890’s U.S. Geologic Sierra Nevada land surveys which included at least one painter and some amateur photographers, this gallery is dedicated to presenting a continuing survey examining the American West as it stands today in an attempt to answer these compelling questions and new any query should it arise.  Silverland is proud to debut the evidence of this research to the concerned citizens and visitors of the west in the form of art exhibitions, exciting speakers and fantastic events. As a western art gallery, Silverland is dedicated to showing art work that inspires in the viewer an expansion of their personal gestalt with the end goal of manufacturing a new inner landscape.
